mobeedo – InfoArea Forms

Today a very simple and useful possibility to contribute InfoAreas was published on www.mobeedo.com. The button “Contribute by Form” will offer the first mobeedo input form to place a “Lost Dog” InfoArea. It will be placed at your current location or an entered address with a radius of 5km and be valid for 14 days. Every mobeedo user entering this area will get a note with the facts and you phone number or e-mail.

Very simple and useful!

More forms to be added soon.

mobeedo with new homepage

Deskto or laptop users surfing to www.mobeedo.com will now be guided to the mobeedo cockpit to view and especially contribute content. Because of the new server environment, performance was improved and additional features were added, like:

1) Centering the map at the current location
The map in the cockpit is centered at the current location detected via geo-ip and shows the content of your surroundings on the PC.

2) Direct linking of objects
With the unique ID, InfoAreas and InfoPOIs now can be accessed directly with a URL, like this one refering to the Golden Roof in Innsbruck:
https://www.mobeedo.com/cockpit/current/?id=139611588448497905

3) facebook and twitter connection

With those direct links, a facebook and twitter post can be done with just one click. Simply choose the InfoObject in the mobeedo cockpit and click the icon in the InfoBox. The post to facebook or twitter is done right away.

Wikitude Augmented Reality API

Like many other services, also Wikitude relies on sengaro’s development know-how. In less than 3 weeks of coding, the iPhone API was created, enabling other developers to use the Wikitude augmented reality engine to create their own apps. mobilizy (the company behind Wikitude) states:

“The WIKITUDE API is a powerful application programming interface which allows for the open development of markerless AR experiences, providing developers with the tools to either create their own android augmented reality applications, or enhance their existing Android applications with an AR camera-view engine.”

MCI | myServiceFellow | Experience Service Design

On November 24th myServiceFellow was officially introduced at the international service design conference “DeThinkingService – ReThinkingDesign” in Oslo. The mobile tool designed by Marc Stickdorn at the MCI Innsbruck suits perfect for service designers out in the field. Airports, hotel lobbys, authorities, everything can be documented comfortably via an Android application by different users and then organised and evaluated on a beamer-board via drag-and-drop by the service design team. Sengaro could bring in it’s know-how in Android development and client-server-systems, as well as GWT browser tools.

mobeedo | Wiesn 09 Edition | iPhone Client released

splash_screenImagine you are visiting the Oktoberfest 2009 and you feel the need for some particular information (e.g. about a tent you are passing or the delay of the bus you are waiting for) it’s simply there: on the screen of your iPhone. Whenever some particular information (you perhaps don’t feel a need for) could be important for you at the Wiesn (e.g. that the parking lot you are using requires a fee or that you are about to enter a party‐endangered area) your iPhone calls your attention to it. Furthermore, imagine you being part of the Wiesn community providing situation‐specific information (e.g. a virtual ‘Freibier’‐sign, or location‐related vCards) to be consumed by any mobeedo user.

Well sounds like you are using the “mobeedo | Wiesn 09 Edition” which brings URL-referenced information to your iPhone exactly when you need it.

Of course you can use the “Wiesn 09 Edition” like the original “mobeedo” client worldwide at any location.

Mobile HikingGuide | Seefeld Tyrol

gps-uebergabe-tvb_seefeld
In collaboration with the AlpenWelt Verlag in South Tyrol, sengaro developed a universal hiking guide based on Android. The ”Mobile Hiking Guide” had its premier in Seefeld (Tyrol) and had an echo at the news conference.

>> Video Seefeld-TV

What’s so exciting about it?
The Mobile Hiking Guide based on Mobeedo not only offers maps with POIs (Points of Interest) place on it, but has additional context information for the current situation. So when reaching an interesting area (e.g. around a mountain cabin), the hiking guide running on a GPS- and tourchscreen-equipped Android device indicates new information by emitting a beep and vibra. If interested, the user is able to access the detailed information with one click on the notification bar. Contributiong data is done via a so called cockpit, which offers options like area/spot, information category, time, language and detail-information (Text, Foto, Audio, Video). Once the information is entered in the cockpit, it is immediately visible on the online devices or can be synched right away.

sengaro and AlpenWelt are very excited about the Mobile HikingGuide and want to equip all tourism regions in the Alps with this very useful tool.
